Climber Story: Clinton Thomas
To start, tell us a little bit about yourself
Hi, my name is Clinton aka Clint or Clinty. I'm 40 years old, that makes me an 80's baby and I'm an adventurer.
How did you start climbing?
I began climbing back in 2016 at a local London bouldering gym, called Arch Climbing. Signing up for that climbing induction was an attempt to beat my paralysing fear of heights.
What impact has climbing had on your life?
Climbing has altered my life in almost every aspect, I don't just climb. I'm a climber, it's what I'm known for and what I love spending the majority of my time doing. At times, it's how I earn a living. Climbing has morphed me from a "normal" urban city slicker to an all out outdoor adventurer.
What are some other things you do that you find most fulfilling?
I love being outside, whether that be climbing, hiking or surfing. Being immersed in nature and bringing others along for the journey fulfills me the most.
If you could tell the world one thing, what would it be?
Nothing happens before it's time! Now go live that dream! That's actually two things I know.
Favorite thing about Dynamite Starfish?
This would have to be Leslie's and Dynamite Starfish's personal touch. We may not be in contact for weeks, but whenever we catch up it always feels like the company has be paying attention to me and where our industry is heading.
Is there something you're working on that you'd like to tell our community about? We love a good story.
I don't have anything planned. I rarely make plans. A film shot from an angle the outdoor industry isn't used to is one idea in play, but that's still a pipe dream. Watch this space!
