Climber Story: Michael Genovese - Dynamite Starfish

To start, tell us a little bit about yourself

Hey, my name is Michael. I'm 46 years old and I'm a career massage therapist. I like hard slabs and cracks.

How did you start climbing?

I was mentored by some crusty trad climbers.

What impact has climbing had on your life?

Climbing has impacted my life in so many ways. It provides me with emotional balance and gives me a positive outlet for stress management. It helps me build confidence and self belief. Climbing helps me to be.

What are some other things you do that you find most fulfilling?

For me, one of the most fulfilling aspects of climbing is establishing new routes. Outside of climbing, I enjoy spending time with my family.

If you could tell the world one thing, what would it be?

Love yourself and treat others like you want to be treated.
