Climber Story: Khianna DeGarmo - Dynamite Starfish

To start, tell us a little bit about yourself

Hey, I'm Khianna! I'm 33 years old and I'm originally from Maui, Hawaii. I currently live in Missouri where I work as a City Clerk of a municipality in St. Louis County.

How did you start climbing?

I started climbing outside in 2017, at Sam’s Throne in Mt. Judea, Arkansas. I've been in love ever since!

What impact has climbing had on your life?

Climbing has given me a wealth of friendships through the tight-knit community it creates and a chance to connect with nature.

What are some other things you do that you find most fulfilling?

I love to write. Sometimes that's poetry or ponderings, and sometimes it's short stories. I enjoy the escape and being able to express and create.

If you could tell the world one thing, what would it be?

Approach life with gratitude and look at your path with a sense of adventure.
