Climber Story : Brigitte Ngo-Trinh - Dynamite Starfish

To start, tell us a little bit about yourself

Hi! My name is Brigitte and I have been climbing for a little over 10 years. During the week I am a Sales manager in biotech. I also love being in the ocean as much as the mountains and teach swimming in the summer.

How did you start climbing?

My cousin. He started climbing in college and convinced me to try it and since UCSD had a climbing gym, I gave it a go but being in college sports at the time I couldn’t commit. Once school ended and I needed something to keep me in shape, I tried climbing again and became obsessed

What impact has climbing had on your life?

So many things! It has brought me a into a community of incredible people. Climbing has also taught me so many things about life in general and brought balance to my life

What are some other things you do that you find most fulfilling?

In the summers I teach swimming to kids, age ranging from 2-adult. It is an amazing feeling seeing improvement in people and their excitement when something clicks. Not to mention giving kids and parents a feeling of safety in the water. I also always love to give back in anyway I can by donating either financially or my time.
