Climber Interview: Blair Elspeth

Happy Monday, all! Today we're featuring a Climber Interview from one of our brand ambassadors, Blair Haddad. We met Blair and her family climbing out in Joshua Tree, California and had such a blast we kept in touch. Read on for more!

To start, what are a few ways you identify yourself? (some examples: name, age, pronouns, type of work you do.) But really, anything you believe is important.

How did you start climbing? 

I fell in love with a climber. 

What impact has climbing had on your life? 

Climbing changed my whole life. Because of climbing, I have my little family. My husband and I bonded in a special way because climbing was such a big part of our lives and relationship. Without that special bond, we wouldn’t have tackled parenthood or the other risks we’ve taken in life with as much thoughtfulness and determination. Spending the time learning and overcoming obstacles while climbing prepared us for the decision making as a team that’s needed to build a successful life together.

What are some other things you do that you find most fulfilling? 

Gardening! I love watching life unfold and create beautiful flowers or food. I also really enjoy the physical work. There is something super gratifying about working with plants.

If you could tell the world one thing, what would it be?

Take care of each other.

Is there something you're working on that you'd like to tell our community about? We love a good story. 

We bought our first house! With Covid and my daughter getting older, we decided it was best to be near family. We found a house in a neighborhood we love and we’ve been making it ours after an epic cross country move. It’s been a big change after living in SoCal most of my life, but the opportunity to be able to have a nice quiet neighborhood that my kiddo can ride her bike in was worth it.

Favorite thing about Dynamite Starfish?

I love the art and the messages that you put on your shirts. They are also super soft 😍
